How to Create an Escalation Task

This article provides the steps required to create, assign, associate, and comment on a Task in the Advocate Platform.

Step 1: Create an Escalation Task

  • From the Case Overview tab click “New task”.

  • Click “Escalation”.

  • Select the escalation type from the “Type” dropdown menu.

  • Click “Create”

Step 2: Fill in the Case Information

  • Assign the Task by clicking “N/A” then search and select the user the Task should be assigned to.

  • Set the Due Date by clicking “Not Set” and using the calendar to choose a due date for the Task.

  • To associate the Task with a Policy, click “Select” and check the box next to the policy or policies you wish to associate the task with.

  • To edit the task description, click on the pencil icon and edit the information in the description box, then click “save”.

Step 3: Add a Comment and Upload Documents (if applicable)

  • At the bottom of the Task, click “Add a comment” and type the information you wish to convey.

  • Use the “@” symbol to tag a teammate in the comment.

  • Click the paperclip icon to add documents to the Task.

  • When the comments and documents are ready, click “Comment”.

  • Comments can be edited or deleted by the creator at any time. Click on the comment box then click the three dots in the top right corner. A menu will appear allowing you to edit or delete the comment.

  • Users can also copy the link to the comment if needed.
