How Tasks Work

Tasks are an effective tool for tracking compliance progress and communicating between team members regarding the actions required for a case or policy.

Tip: Tasks can be used to design workflows for individual users or teams.

  • Tasks are created on the Case Overview tab and appear nested under the policy(ies) they are associated with.

  • From this view, users can see who each task is assigned to, whether it is flagged, overdue, completed, cancelled, or not yet started.

Tip: To see the due date of a task from this view, hover the cursor over the calendar icon and the task's due date will appear. The calendar icon will turn orange the day a task is due and red once the task is overdue.

  • Tasks can also be filtered on the Overview tab for easier workflow management.

Available Task Types

When creating a new task, the Advocate platform provides the following pre-existing task types to choose from:

  • Waiver Required

  • End of Renewal Review – Handoff

  • Missing Asset Information

  • New Insurance Contact Needed

  • Non-Responsive Broker

  • No Document Received

  • No Policy Received

  • Invoice Received – Action Required

  • Policy-Certificate Mismatch

  • Borrower Involvement Noted

  • Policy Approved

  • Missing Coverage

  • Non-Compliant Policy

Composition of a Task

Each task is comprised of the following editable fields: assigned to, due date, associated with, a task description, and a comment section.

  • Note: Once a task is created, it cannot be deleted, only cancelled.
