Understanding the Assets Tab

The Assets tab is the source of truth for Asset information, guiding Case compliance by determining which Policy perils and items are compliant based on the selected Risk Profile.

This article explains the Assets tab in detail and outlines which features and information can be found there.

Prerequisites

  • The Case must have at least one Asset set up before this tab will reflect any information.

Key Terms

  • Asset Card – this is where all the Asset information lives. The values in the Asset card are used throughout the platform, so if Asset information is showing incorrectly elsewhere, correct it from the Asset card.

  • Missing Required Fields – a warning icon and count appear next to an Asset if required fields are missing from its Asset card.

  • Associated Policies – lists the Policies tied to each Asset on the Case.

  • "+ New Asset" button – creates a new Asset card to tie an additional Asset to the Case and its Policies.

When to Use the Assets Tab

  • To update Asset information.

  • Add a new Asset to the Case.

  • Check which Policies are associated with each Asset.

  • Check for missing or incomplete Asset fields.

  • Check or correct Asset data if the Policy Revisions show a discrepancy with the Policy limit feedback, including updating the RCV information on the Asset Card.

  • Correct Asset details if the Compliance tab shows Flood coverage is required but none of the Assets are located in a flood zone.

  • Confirm Asset information is up to date during the Renewal Outreach process, before renewal notices and compliance coverage reports are generated.

What's on the Assets Tab

Compliance for a Case is determined by the combination of an Asset's information and the Risk Profile assigned to the Case. The Platform applies the compliance rules for each Policy on the Case based on that Risk Profile, and many of those rules depend on specific Asset information so, it's important to keep Asset information correct and up to date, incomplete or incorrect Asset information can directly affect whether a Policy shows as compliant.

Note: If Policy Revisions feedback looks incorrect, check the Asset card to confirm values such as RCV or number of stories are correct

Viewing and Editing Asset Details

Click on the Asset address on the Asset card to open the Asset Details page.

Fill in any missing Asset data or correct existing data on the Asset Details page.

Note: Incomplete Asset fields can block approval, so check the Asset card for missing required fields before approving a Policy or Case. If no Asset cards are visible at all, a new Asset should be created.

What Happens Next?

Once an Asset's details have been updated, there are several paths the user can choose from to move forward depending on the reason for updating the Asset details.

  • If the Asset has been updated and the Policy is ready for approval, proceed with approving the Policy.

  • When the Asset was updated as part of onboarding or creating a new Case, proceed to the Policies tab to create and review Policies for the Case.

  • If the Asset was updated due to a discrepancy with the Policy Revisions, proceed back to the Policy and check the Policy Revisions to confirm the discrepancy is resolved.

    • If the discrepancy is not resolved but the Asset is correct, reach out to Client Support to check for a possible system bug.

  • When the Asset is updated due to incorrect perils or material items showing on the Compliance tab, check the Compliance tab to confirm the incorrect perils or material items have been removed.
