Understanding and Navigating the Advocate Platform

This article provides an overview of the Advocate homepage, including the Sidebar, Banner, and Dashboard, and how to navigate between them.

The Dashboard

The Dashboard gives users a quick view of metrics pulled from across the Advocate Platform.

  • The Dashboard displays current open tasks and cases, compliance benchmarking, and a portfolio overview.

  • Each widget pulls data from across the platform to provide the most complete picture of a user's portfolio.

Tip: Click the expansion arrow in a widget to navigate directly into that feature for a more detailed breakdown of the data.

The Sidebar

The collapsible sidebar provides access to all of Advocate's insurance features.

  • Click Add Case to start adding a new case to a portfolio.

  • Click Home to return to the homepage and personal dashboard.

  • Click Inbox to view notifications about comments on tasks and cases.

  • Click Cases to manage current working cases and any subscribed cases.

  • Click Tasks to view all open, subscribed, flagged, and completed tasks.

  • Click Reports to view available reports and price benchmarks.

  • Click Comparable Analysis to create custom analysis and compare coverage and pricing across markets.

  • Click League Tables to view a market-wide view of insurance placement activity.

  • Click Trading for a live, time-based view of insurance pricing and market activity.

The Banner

The banner provides access to search, support, and account tools from anywhere in Advocate.

  • Use the search bar to find cases by case number or case name.

  • Click the Help Center icon to open the Advocate Document Library for how-to articles and resources.

  • Click the Client Support Chat icon to get answers and support while using the platform.

  • Click the account icon to manage account settings and appearance.

Note: Account Controls also include organization-level settings. Only organization admins can manage user access from this menu.
